Chapter 1
Kylee Matthews stood at the front door and her brain was just on overdrive. She couldn’t believe that she was here to say what she had to say. She hadn’t seen him in 5 years after she ran because of her own inner demons. She was almost 23 now. Her eyes were a bit more wary from running all the time and the lack of sleep. Her hair wasn’t perfect due to all the stress she went thru every day. But she was Kylee and if he loved her as much as he always said he had then none of that would matter. She just thought deep down that he deserved to know why she ran.
“Momma are you going to knock on the door or not…I really gotta pee.” Her 5 year old son said from next to her while doing the potty dance. He was the spitting image of his father but when he was born he looked like his Uncle. All the Salvatore men were born with Blonde hair that eventually turned brown. Damon however had gotten the dark hair from his mother.
Kylee just laughed at her little boy. “Alright…” she said as she knocked on the door. She waited a minute and when no one opened the door, she turned around and looked at Geo. “Come on, we can go to a rest stop on our way back home.” She told him with a sigh just as she heard the door open.
“Can I help you?” came a female voice. Kylee turned around to see a girl younger then her. Bright brown eyes that were just standing there wondering why there was a girl on her doorstep.
“I’m sorry. Apparently the people that used to live here moved. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.” Kylee told her grabbing Geo’s hand.
“You’re the girl in the picture…”
